Design
We have researched and figured out the most optimal and cost-effective way to create our AED, which can be seen from the designs below.
Components
Power Supply
The power supply consists of a 12V DC power bank that connects to a voltage regulator (LM7805) to provide a regulated 5V output.
High-Voltage Circuit
The high-voltage circuit includes a boost converter (LM5155) that increases the voltage to 3000V. A high-voltage capacitor (3000V, 0.1µF) stores energy for shock delivery, and 50Ω electrodes deliver the shock effectively.
Control Circuit
The control circuit is equipped with an ECG sensor that provides heart rhythm data to the microcontroller (Arduino Nano). Additionally, a relay or switch ensures the capacitor safely discharges to the electrodes when triggered.
